EXECUTIVE MESSAGE

California Department of Insurance
class action settlement

Allianz will be sending letters to approximately 300 senior policyholders in connection with the California market conduct exam class action settlement. In 2008, Allianz settled an Order to Show Cause issued by the California Department of Insurance stemming from a market conduct examination focused on fixed annuity sales to seniors. The resolution we reached involves no admission or finding of wrongdoing or violation of law.

California market conduct exam settlement:

Last week we sent you a notice relating to the settlement of a separate and unrelated matter, Iorio v. Allianz Life. Participation in the California Department of Insurance settlement will not preclude participation in the Iorio class action lawsuit and vice versa, except that relief provided in the Department of Insurance settlement may reduce the amount of relief to which a person is entitled in the Iorio settlement.

Iorio vs Allianz Life letter from Gary Bhojwani

Thank you for your business, and for your continued support of Allianz.

Eric J. Thomes,
Senior Vice President of Sales
