Texas annuity producers must complete 4 hours of General Annuity Training CE credits (provided by a state-approved training vendor) AND Product-Specific Training with any/all annuity carriers for which you will solicit or sell annuities in Texas.  The current resident agent CE training requirement that was adopted 4/1/2010 will remain in effect - it is a separate training and will not satisfy these requirements.      

BOTH the General Annuity Training & the Product-Specific Training must be completed.  Consult the chart below for the effective date of each training requirement. 2 Effective Dates appear for your state.  The Effective Date that applies to you is subject to the date on which you became insurance licensed in Texas. If you were licensed BEFORE the Effective Date ("Currently Licensed"), you have an extended period before the training must be completed.

Carrier-Specific Product Training Element

General Annuity Training Element
Four hours continuing education credits must be obtained by an approved vendor offering General Annuity Training.  Only state-approved training courses meet the requirement and are available at the Texas Department of Insurance website.
